We’ve had more than our fair share of rain in St Andrews recently which has meant it’s been a soggy few weeks in the kitchen garden. We caught up with Head Gardener – Phil Harper to find out what is happening in the garden and what we can expect to see on the menu at Seasons Restaurant in the coming weeks.

Our guests will be familiar with Rufus, the much loved Rufflets teddy bear. However, not many people know the story of how Rufus first arrived at Rufflets. Luckily our Head Housekeeper, Heather, will tell you the story along with some Rufus trivia!

We are dedicating this week’s blog to Heather Rothery our Head Housekeeper who celebrates a very special work anniversary today.

Rufflets has a long history dating back more than half a century. We are recognised as one of the oldest-established St Andrews hotels and also one of the first country house hotels in Scotland.

Founded in the early 15th century, the University of St Andrews is the oldest of the four ancient universities of Scotland’s and the third oldest in the English speaking world (after Cambridge and Oxford). June marks the summer graduation ceremony for thousands of students who will celebrate the end of their studies in St Andrews.
