We went along to meet the Pittenweem Chocolate Company’s owner – Sophie Latinis to find out what inspired her to start the business and why she chose the East Neuk.

Our guests will be familiar with Rufus, the much loved Rufflets teddy bear. However, not many people know the story of how Rufus first arrived at Rufflets. Luckily our Head Housekeeper, Heather, will tell you the story along with some Rufus trivia!

July is the perfect time to discover Fife's outdoor attractions and open-air events. We have more than our fair share of beautiful gardens to explore and since many are within palaces and castles, it's also an opportunity to peek inside.

Rufflets' pastry chef, Petra Brandhorst comes from Bremen, Germany and enjoyed telling us what is traditionally baked in her home town as well as in kitchens throughout Europe and further afield. 

It may be winter but don't let that stop you from exploring the beautiful Kingdom of Fife. November is packed with plenty of things to do, just grab your hats and gloves and come and explore before the year ends.

In the current climate of excessive food packaging and unacceptable food waste, the trend towards foraging seems particularly significant with the added attraction of eating locally and seasonally.
