We are a dog friendly hotel

Staying with your four-legged friend couldn't be easier. From dog friendly bedrooms in our external accommodation to 10 acres of gardens to call your own and a welcome pack when you arrive.


There's no need to leave your dog behind, Rufflets has everything you need to make your stay here easy-peasy. We're expecting waggy tails from the moment you arrive!

Big Licks
All of our four-legged guests receive a welcome pack on arrival and various items such as drying towels, leads, bowls and beds are available to borrow from Reception (subject to availability).

As well as 10 acres of private gardens to stroll around, we can also show you where to go for some longer countryside romps and the famous St Andrews beaches. You can pick from four dog-friendly bedrooms and our self-catering lodges are also ideal for dogs.

Need to know
We charge an extra £25 per night per dog, with a maximum of two dogs per booking.

There are four dog-friendly bedrooms within our external accommodations situated 60 seconds walk from the main hotel building. Dogs are not permitted in any of the other bedrooms so it's always best to book direct with us to ensure that your furry friend can join you.

Dogs are permitted in the public areas of the main hotel (excluding the restaurant and Drawing Room), and are most welcome to join if you want to dine in the bar or outside on the terrace.

Doggie Day Care
If you need to head out and leave your dog behind, we can organise a doggie day care service for you. The family-owned business, PAWWS will take excellent care of your pet for the day. Find out more at or contact them on 01337 810488

why book direct?

We always offer our lowest prices on our own website. If you find a lower qualifying rate within 24 hours of making your reservation, we will match the lower rate, and add an extra 5% discount.

If you need to cancel your reservation, as long as it’s at least 24 hours prior to your planned arrival date, we won’t charge you. Just e-mail (does not apply to advance purchase rates)

When you book directly with us, we will upgrade your booking to the next room category, subject to availability at check-in

Afternoon Tea served between 2pm and 4.30pm daily 

(minimum 24 hour advance booking required)

Dinner served between 6pm and 9pm daily
