St Andrews Brew Co are relative newcomers to the Scottish brewing scene, having only produced their first bottles in 2012, but they’ve already built a loyal following across the country.  Sample their signature lager and IPA in the bar at Rufflets, then take a brewery tour to find out where the magic happens.

The Pittenweem Chocolate Company is one of the East Neuk’s real gems.  If you’re planning to take in the picture-perfect fishing villages of the East Coast, make sure to stop in to the shop and their cafe, where you’re bound to run into the woman who’s passion for incredible chocolate is inspiring.  Read Sophie’s story here.

Every Fifer’s favourite day out with their children in the school holidays is definitely Cairnie Fruit Farm.  There was only one choice for the team at Rufflets when it came to supplementing our own home-grown berries for you to enjoy.  As well as the chance to pick your own fruit, Cairnie offers a wide variety of family-friendly outdoor activities to keep younger guests busy in the fresh air.

The Stewart Family have farmed at Falside in the East Neuk of Fife since the 1930’s and started the St Andrews Cheese Company in 2008. Guests of Rufflets have been enjoying the company’s award-winning cheeses for many years.  They bring their cheeses to several of Fife’s excellent farmers markets (1st Saturday of the month St Andrews, 2nd weekend of the month Bowhouse, 3rd Saturday of the month Cupar).

No trip to St Andrews would be complete without a visit to Fisher & Donaldson.  Holders of a Royal Warrant, five generations of the same family have spent 100 years perfecting the savoury and sweet delicacies they’ve become so famous for.  If you’ve never tasted an F&D Fudge Doughnut, your life is incomplete up to this point…

Five star visitor experience Kingsbarns Distillery is one of Scotland’s youngest producers of malt whisky.  The wait for the first bottle is a long one, and the Wemyss family have filled the time productively, turning out the popular and highly-acclaimed Darnley’s Gin range.  Set in an idyllic landscape within easy reach of St Andrews, a distillery tour and tasting will be a highlight of any spirit enthusiast’s trip.
