As we have a higher number of visitors during the summer months we can offer a number of placements for UK and overseas students and can provide accommodation, if required. Our preferred term for placements is 8 months commencing in April, although shorter placements will be considered. The majority of placements are available within the housekeeping, restaurant, bar and kitchen portering departments. Applications for all placements should be received by the end of January.

Assistant Head-Housekeeper:

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, and deputising in her absence, the Assistant Head-Housekeeper is a key member of the team. 

He/she should have a full understanding of the high standards that are required in a 4 Gold Star-rated hotel, and be able to demonstrate an excellent track record and employment history to back this understanding up.

Our operation is very much hands-on, and the role is based on a 40 hour week, working 5 days from 7. In return for hard work and commitment, we offer a competitive salary, 28 days paid holiday per year, an excellent working environment, and a friendly team to work with!

Head Gardener

Our head gardener for 30 years is soon to be retiring. We are seeking a talented and experienced head gardener who will continue to maintain and develop our ten acre gardens and grounds for our hotel guests to enjoy.

The successful applicant should be a physically fit, self-motivated individual who will work 'hands-on' with the help of an assistant in summer months. You should have experience of working in a historic / country house garden, and have excellent plant knowledge & horticultural skills.

You should hold a current driver's licence and preferably be licensed to operate horticultural and spraying machinery.
