Playing the Old Course St Andrews

If you are planning a golf vacation in Scotland and hope to secure a tee time on the Old Course, St Andrews you can apply direct, from September onwards in the year before you wish to play. You will be advised within four weeks whether or not you have a confirmed tee time.

Golfers wishing to reserve an Old Course tee time in advance on the historic Old Course should email reservations@standrews.org.uk or fax the Links Trust on or after the first Wednesday in September for the following year on +44 (0) 1334 479555. Anyone who applies earlier will be advised to re-apply in September. You must also send a valid handicap certificate to:

Rufflets can manage this on your behalf but to avoid paying VAT (sales tax @ 17.5%) on your golf reservation, payment must be made direct to St Andrews Links Trust Management. This must take the form of written confirmation for a credit card payment to be made, including address of card holder. Please note that American Express and Diners cards are not accepted. The cost of a round on the Old Course in 2006 is £120.00.

If you are unsuccessful with the above, you can enter the Old Course Ballot. Half of the Old Course tee-off times are held for locals and visitors. Tee-off times are allocated in the previous day's draw. Names are placed in a ballot before 12 noon and the draw is made by 4pm. Again, Rufflets will manage this for you on arrival. Please note that single players are not accepted in the ballot but it is possible for single golfers to turn up and wait for a cancellation.

Please note the Old Course is closed on Sundays.
